Debora Kuetzpal Vasquez
You will learn a little culture, a little art history, and paint a masterpiece! At the beginning of the experience, we will guide you through a short visualization exercise to relax you and open your mind up to paint. Then we will assist you in creating your own culturally relevant work of art.
At the end of the experience, you will be serenaded with beautiful traditional Mexican, Indigenous, and/or local song. It is important to us to provide you with a unique and creative cultural and healing painting experience that will leave you relaxed, refreshed, and positive. You will feel completely accomplished when you complete your own creation!
ABOUT
KUETZPAL & BIANCA
Kuetzpal Vasquez has a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2D & 3D art and is Professor Emeritus in the Visual Arts at Our Lady of the Lake University. Her expertise is in Mexican Indigenous culture and African spirituality. She is a professional artist and illustrator that has exhibited nationally and internationally. Kuetzpal has worked with art as healing for over 15 years.
Bianca Sapet has a Bachelors of Art in Sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University. Her research interests are in Mexican Popular Culture and Music and how it translates to the U.S. Bianca is also a professional vocalist and lyricist and performs nationally and internationally. In music, her interests lie in the manner in which music is paired with art that heals.
